The graphics are gorgeous. Both Jihyung and Joongman are the deepest of red flags, and Yeesu is by the end not far behind them. There is emotional development and relationship development, but it is nothing like healthy emotional growth.

While Yeesu would very much like to go home at this point, his father-in-law has other plans. Thus begins over 70 chapters of mind rotting melodrama that at times makes the wildest of daytime Korean soaps appear tame.

This story is simultaneously lurid and beautifully executed.

Kang Joongman, Jihyung's exceedingly homophobic father is filled with rage when Han Yeesu moves into the family home. Just though as Joongman begins to slowly warm to his unwanted son-in-law, Jihyung declares that he is eloping with one of his father's many mistresses and leaves.

Kleenex will be needed at several points. It is not a drama that can be rushed through though.

There is so much I love about this drama. The acting, the plot, and the pacing are all spot on. The side characters are all dynamic. The humor is exceedingly Korean. The costuming is beautiful. The sub-arcs exist for reasons even if those reasons don't become clear until the end.

This is not a BL. However, there is LGBTQIA+ representation, and the inclusive way it is handled is laudable for a mainstream Korean drama in 2017.

I often say that redemption arcs must be believable. The ones here are, and there are multiple characters who I do not hesitate to call psychopaths. Sun Mi is also in my mind Autistic coded in her isolation, her notions of justice, her trust that refuses to die, and her rationality.

Son O Gong and Woo Ma Wang, shatter the world Sun Mi had built for herself, and she must face the destiny the Heavens have decreed for her. This modern interpretation of the classic _Journey to the West_ is full of humor and heartbreak, exploring love's many forms, loyalty, and redemption.
