'Democrats are less tolerant of opposing views than Republicans' isn't something I've seen a lot of evidence for outside of random anecdotes cherry-picked by right-wing media.

And if 'Democrats are mean' is a media fiction rather than a real phenomenon, we can't solve it by being nicer.
