been thinking about this of late. like its genuinely so sad when a youtuber or whatever clearly has a horrible mental break and they get super religious out of nowhere probably because someone pushed them into it instead of getting them real tangible mental help. it happens more than it should

Something i find very interesting about this (agree with most of your picks btw) is how most of the higher tier games are newer while the lower ones are older. The kids making exe games in gamemaker are adults now using that experience to create quality versions of the stuff they used to make. Wild

the staple fantasy races (elf, orc, dwarf, etc) tend to be way more aesthetically pleasing than a lot of alien designs (usually just people but blue) and a outdoor setting / village is more appealing than the cold sterile-ness of a spaceship for me personally. dunno if others feel that way tho
