Switching to daylight savings time is kind of like Christmas for horse people 😀

Why haven't you seen this Link cosplay from #LegendOfZelda #BreathOfTheWild during my cosplay posting spree? Because I didn't make it/assemble it. The entire cosplay is borrowed from the Austrian cosplayer Lux Cosplay!

I molded the Royal Griffin myself. It's a Smooth-On Dragon Skin two part mold that is still connected at the forehead, so it opens like a book. The mane is a bit tricky, but I found ways to get a clean cast. The resin I used was Smooth-Cast 65D.

I sculpted them with monster clay. @brazenbold.bsky.social molded this one for me, as I was not yet familiar with molding and casting. You may have noticed that the original sculpt doesn't have horns. I thought they would be too complicated to mold, so I sculpted them afterwards with Apoxy Sculpt.

I'm gonna continue posting here with works that are not (entire) costumes, but little trinkets or props. In 2019 and 2020 I sculpted a Wyvern and a Royal Griffin trophy from #TheWitcher3. They would be a bit too big for keys chains, but for bags they are perfect.

I made an Ex Altiora, which I also got signed by a bunch of Magnus & Rusty Quill folk. I used a book as base, gave it a fake leather wrapping (foam) and made a secret compartment for the lightning effect! The button to trigger it is completely invisible. @madnesscreations.com did the electronics^^

Best thing: The dress has pockets!

I made Niffty from #HazbinHotel at the same time when I made monster Bonzo cause I love stress? I think I made this costume almost exclusively at @tsuya.at 's place, who also made the belt and gloves and plotted the stains and poodle for me!

All that was left then was glueing on the... blisters? pimples? lumps? The orange things, which are toy foam balls in two sizes which I cut in half and painted orange. The bigger ones on the head I made with 5 mm EVA foam.
And also added the decorative stitches!

Boy, what a long post...

Then magic happened and suddenly it looked alive! Matt from www.instagram.com/brazen.and.bold/ painted Bonzo, shading, blood smears and dirt!
Also, you can see me wearing the trousers already, these are just from a comfy trousers pattern by @tsuya.at

The eyes in the ripped-open belly are made the same way the one behind cutesy Bonzo's nose was: painted iris behind a cabochon, foam eye lids, cotton and latex, paint it. The head basically got the same treatment like the body. The weird eye lid is also just foam, later added latex and cotton to it.

The mouth is 1cm high density foam, cut and dremeled into shape. The lips are foam clay! The eyes are acrylic domes with a bit of clear resin for the lens, I then simply glued the picture of an eye behind it. The veins are strings of wool glued to the dome. Last step is painting the inside white!

I made a first layer of gloves so I can pull everything off the 3D print if I need to repair a string or elastic. I glued batting to these under-gloves and added foam clay for more pointy fingers. The actual skin then goes over this construction.

The 3D models for the mechanical hands are by www.etsy.com/uk/shop/Faeb... @madnesscreations.com adjusted the hand to Bonzo's needs and printed it for me. I decided to sew gloves into it cause the hand will be super closed off and I needed to make sure I'd find the strings (spider cw on the 2. pic)

For the arms I sewed tubes on my sewing machine and pinched and pulled them into shape. I did the skin for the shoes also with the machine as they have an easy shape.
For the collar I experimented with paper to get the shape right.

To create Bonzo's skin folds I used quilt batting! When I was finished I covered everything in newspaper to get a better feel for the size of the fabric to skin Bonzo. Skinning was quite the process, a lot of pulling and gluing. I then sewed the pieces together by hand.
January 27, 2025 at 9:21 PM
I 3D-sculpted Bonzo's body in Nomad Sculpt. @madnesscreations.com made a papercraft pattern using CozyBlanket by @sparseal.bsky.social, which we printed and I then assembled, cut into a suitable pattern again, traced it onto 1 cm upholstery foam, cut it out, glued it together! So far so good!

At the #TheMagnusProtocol S1 premiere I said I'm gonna build Monster Bonzo and I did it! Boy, this costume was interesting to make, but I'm super happy it worked out and I wore Bonzo at MCM London in May and the S2 premiere in October 2024.

It's been a while, but my most recent work would be this wyvern. Monster Clay sculpt molded with Dragon Skin (fitting, heh) and casted with Smooth-Cast 65D.

I brought this costume to the 10 anniversary ESO Tavern last year. Of course I didn't bring my cat with me, but I found a perfect sized plush to wear it^^ People seemed to really like him and I got to show him to the art director of ESO! 🥰

@madnesscreations.bsky.social designed the silver ware tray in Blender and printed them for me. I made the plates with EVA foam, primed and painted everything.
Everything's attached to a harness which can be easily opened and closed via a strip of Velcro.

The small details like the handle, the decorative line and the spiked are also made with EVA foam. I stippled flex bond onto it to give it a bit of texture and painted it with acrylic paint. The chin straps are attached to the helmet with a rubber band.
