Ride bikes. Vote. Etc.
In a world of doomscrolling, I love this because
a. it implies groups in community
b. it looks at how to create the social bonds that feel so frayed right now
c. i have a fun thought exercise trying to come up with my own questions! www.npr.org/2025/05/29/n...
Want to cut through small talk? Try asking a 'magical question'
These creative questions are fun to answer and can help reveal people's personalities. Conflict resolution facilitator Priya Parker shares her favorites and explains how to come up with your own.

This. Is. Horrifying.

No one is safe in the US under this. There is no "right" kind of immigrant, visa holder, naturalized or natural born citizen protected by the laws. There is no trial by jury of peers, no protection from this cruel and unusual and illegal punishment.

I'm absolutely gobsmacked.

Am I an old lady shaking fist at clouds by being annoyed that candidates are submitting AI cover letters and interest statements? Each one reads like the last cover letter a robot wrote, and it's not a good way to learn anything about an individual.

@septaphilly.bsky.social maybe this is a dumb question but I'm trying to plan a trip to Melrose Park from 30th Street and everything says there's a transfer at Suburban. Is that just because the train changes names/destinations at Suburban Station, or are there really no trains that go direct?

I will never forget the photo of Zelenskyy’s face after he saw Russia’s war crimes in Bucha in 2022. He seemed to age years in an afternoon. Watching him constantly cross the world asking for aid that should have been thrown at him is one of the deepest shames of our age.

It's the start of our revised bike storage system. It takes up a lot of room when it's not installed.

Always make sure you check for tools before closing anything in - a story.

In the past, this is how we lost:
A hammer (we were able to retrieve it by cutting a new hole on the other side)
A thermometer (temperature sensitive work will forevermore be possible inside our kitchen wall)

A typical European car is parked 92% of the time. It spends 1/5th of its driving time looking for parking. Its 5 seats only move 1.5 people. 86% of its fuel never reaches the wheels, and most of the energy that does, moves the car, not the people.

Sound efficient?

Manhattan is much nicer with fewer cars. Quiet. Civilized. So much faster to walk around.
