Still thinking (and welling up every time) about ALPHA - a film I think will be reevaluated in probably a mere few years and have Cannes critics regretting their words (esp that one particular review that is SO offensive and reductive it beggars belief). And I will have been right since day dot 💅

The Satō Vol. 1 boxset from @vinsyn.bsky.social has arrived and is - as expected - an absolute beauty. Feels surreal to be holding such a high quality release of some of his earliest films, and I’m so glad I am alive to witness such a renaissance. Keep your pervert eyes peeled for Vol. 2… 👀💕

Baby’s eye is not damaged thank god she just has a nasty infection AND the kind vet was able to do her jabs at the same time so we don’t have to wrangle her in the carrier again on Friday 😭😭😭 my poor angel and her gammy eye

Mar’s eye is completely swollen shut and she is very unhappy (not pictured here obv, she won’t let me get a photo of her rn) so it’s an emergency vet trip today ahead of an appointment she has already booked on Fri. If anyone was feeling kind and wanted to soften the blow:

It’s gonna be tough to beat Alexander Ullom’s IT ENDS as the film of @celluloidscreams.bsky.social for me - an insanely confident, self-assured, moving, hilarious, scary existential crisis. That it was made by such a young group of talented people is truly proof that the kids are gonna be alright.
