Following a trip to Malaysia in September, I'm happy to reinstate Bird Of The Day with Asian Glossy Starling. They are common across Southeast Asia. #birds #malaysia #nature #birding #asianglossystarling

8th November and still harvesting Dahlias 😁🎉 This may be the last cut though, as there are very few new buds being produced despite the leaves all still being green. #allotment #garden #dahlia

I'm glad we still haven't had a frost, as my Cobaea scandens Cup & Saucer Vine is getting more and more vigorous and there are many more flowers coming. The bigger it gets, the more spectacular it becomes. #garden #cobaeascandens #cupandsaucervine

Happy to say there was no frost on Saturday night at my allotment so I've got another Dahlia harvest in. Forecast cold tonight but after that we're frost free for a while. #allotment #garden #dahlia

There's a possibility we'll get our first frost at weekend, so I did a double Dahlia harvest - one fiery, one pastel. Will it be my last of the year? #garden #allotment #dahlia

Today's Dahlia harvest is a much brighter affair than last weeks. #garden #allotment #dahlia

This week's Dahlia harvest features more pastel tones. Each week becomes a bonus at this time of year as I wait for the night they all turn to mush. #allotment #garden #dahlia

Today's Dahlia harvest is only my 3rd of the year, when I'd normally be up to around 10 by now. Weather looks OK for the coming week, so fingers crossed for more. Some still haven't flowered yet. #allotment #garden #dahlia

I've had this Alsroemeria 'Indian Summer' for 4 years and really struggled to get it established, having moved it several times. This is the first year it's looked happy when I moved it to the allotment. I can try removing chunks to my garden now. #garden #allotment #alsroemeria

I was really late starting my tomatoes this year, as my first lot all died from manure contaminated with herbicide. They are looking great, but it's a race against the frost for them to ripen. Hoping for an Indian summer. #allotment #tomato

I grew this Cobaea scandens from seed in February, and being a climber it has taken until now to flower. I was miffed when the flower first opened as it was cream, but within 2 days it turns rich purple. I'll be growing them every year I think. #garden #cobaeascandens

It took forever for my dahlias to flower this year, so this is only my 2nd harvest, but it was worth the wait. #allotment #garden #dahlia

Our last day birding rewarded us with Mountain Peacock-pheasant and Silver-breasted Broadbill. We fly back home first thing in the morning. #birds #malaysia

Our last night proper is in a very unusual chateau type hotel in the mountains. Ferruginous Partridge performed along with adorable Squirrels. Big target tomorrow is Mountain Peacock-pheasant before we head back to Kuala Lumpur and then home. #birds #malaysia

My Dahlias have been really late to flower this year, so these are my first cut blooms. Most of them are still at least a week from flowering. #allotment #garden #dahlia
