There is a surprisingly high level of support for a US military intervention in Venezuela, particularly in the Andes and Brazil, where over half the population supports the idea. I'm not saying this to defend it, just to show that conventional wisdom is likely off.

Quoted in Bloomberg. Whether or not I think this naval operation was strategic, just, or legal, the political reality is that Trump is engaging in a militarized security populism that has plenty of supporters in this hemisphere.

From last night's debate in Ecuador. The president is quietly in the back corner of the picture of candidates, trying not to attract too much attention. That's wonderfully symbolic of his debate performance. He didn't dominate the debate. The goal was "don't lose" and he succeeded at that.

The worsening of internet content over the past decade is directly linked to the shutdown of Google Reader and that's the hill I'll die on. Similar to TikTok (which, to be fair, I don't use), there are/were hundreds of alternatives and yet none of them fully captures the app experience.
