With that all said, the Original Battlefront games blow these modern ones out of the water. OG Battlefront II remains forever installed on my PC, along with loads of modded maps for it.

Still, EA's Battlefront II is at least fun to play these days, and offers quite a bit of offline content. GG.

I also have a mod installed for Battlefront II that overhauls the offline instant action, allowing for more mods and even letting me chose which faction fights against each other, e.g. Republic vs First Order.

Took a bit to get my aim settings down for Battlefront II, but I want to play more.

Now, Battlefront II on the other hand actually had a proper campaign. And it wasn't half-bad. I even did the DLC campaign levels that wrapped up the story, because the original game's campaign didn't... For some reason???

I'm already looking to spend more time in Battlefront II over Battlefront I.

Recently played EA's #StarWars #Battlefront and beaten #BattlefrontII. Battlefront 1 I only played for like 6 hours as there's not a lot of offline content. I had a mod installed that "created" a "campaign" using some of the existing offline missions, but the game was still eh. Very bare-bones.

Shout-outs to Motoko from Ghost in the Shell, though. She became pretty damn powerful at the end as a melee character. Basically ran around the entire battleground killing enemies that were softened by everyone else.

Anyway, they've teased TWICE now of an upcoming war. Where is it, Firaxis?!

I am a bit sad to see that the game didn't have a strong modding community. But I can understand why as you can't customise or create new characters in-game, and that you're limited to a total of 8 characters. I had a Venom Snake modded character, but I ran out of slots so I couldn't get him.

Completed #XCOMChimeraSquad today after a total of 20 hours playtime. Played it on Story difficulty as I still suck at tactics games.

Y'know, I thought it was alright. Sure, not as good as XCOM 2, but not bad for a spin-off title. It's like a weird mini XCOM 2, with a slightly different play style.

They also give you a review of the past 8 years with the Switch. No surprises that I put the most amount of hours into Animal Crossing: New Horizons. And I went hard on Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fuelled. Grinded almost every Grand Prix that game had, so I spent £0 on all the cosmetics. Never again.

Here is my #NintendoYearInReview. Yeah, I didn't really play a lot on my Switch 2 in 2025, despite getting it day one. I'm hoping to play a bit more in 2026, but that all depends on how busy I become. #NintendoSwitch #NintendoSwitch2

There's like an insane amount of planes to collect, hidden missions, some replayability, etc. I don't think I'll go back after beating it once, but it has inspired me a little to maybe check out Ace Combat in the future. If I can find the time.

Spent like the past few months slowly chipping away at a PS2 game called #AirforceDeltaStrike. Never really played any of these air combat sim games, and I heard this was a decent clone of the Ace Combat series that's somehow even more anime.

It's alright, actually.

Anyway, here are a couple more stats. I only played on Rookie difficulty, so it isn't too impressive. Still, XCOM 2 is a fun game. Would absolutely recommend.

I am interested in checking out the #XCOMChimeraSquad game next, but I want to quickly start a new game of XCOM 2 with a bunch of silly mods installed. I want to see how many opposing teams I can get into one mission (ADVENT, EXALT, Lost, Scavengers, Whoever and Whatever). I want it to crash.

Shoutouts to Solid Snake on the final mission, who got me out of a sticky jam by single-handedly killing like 3 pods of enemies, thanks to his Serial ability and the Chosen shotgun. My sniper was pretty great, too. Multiple kills on the same turn thanks to his Death from Above ability.

I did play with some mods, but the gameplay was mostly vanilla. The only real changes were some quality of life UI stuff, and I added the MOCX EXALT guys and made them enemies to everyone because EXALT were fun to fight in Enemy Within. Also, quite a few custom characters.

I finally beat #XCOM2 with the War of the Chosen DLC for the first time after like 61 hours. I played on Rookie difficulty, as I suck at strategy games, but I still had a lot of fun. I took my sweet time beating it, as I wanted to make contact with all regions and get OP units for the final mission.

Here is my 2025 #Steam Year in Review for anyone that cares. I have definitely played less on Steam this year, although I've still played 7 new games, which is the same as last year.

Still in the middle of playing XCOM 2, but not featured was how I finished the Classic Marathon series this year.

My terrible #TwitchRecap2025. I do not recall watching a Battlefield 6 stream...

Happy to see NiGHTS and AiAi in this, but... FINALLY. Tangle and Whisper in an official Sonic game that isn't a mobile game! I used to pray for times like this.

Even if this will be the only IDW appearance in these games for a while, I am PLEASED.

I managed to "Master" the game by getting all the #Retroachievements for the game, too. The most difficult was probably trying to do the "finish a chapter's final level with 0 hits" because I decided to do it on Chapter 6. Ended up going ham with the bazooka and memorized enemy positions.

I decided to check out that #PlayStation #MedalofHonor game as I've heard it was pretty decent. And y'know what? It kinda is pretty good. You can tell that they were inspired by GoldenEye 007 for the N64 because of how the aiming works.

Taken from a random YouTube comment. I have no problems with people saying "I find this to be tasteless" or generally disliking the idea, but some people take it too far.

Some of the debate around this dumb toy has been crazy to read.
