3) Don't buy the company line that 3-5-year 401k vesting is a legitimate employee retention policy; it's a chain attached to your ankle so as a group say hell no. The true legal policy use to be 10 years max but because it was being abused so much, the Feds forced companies to make it a 5-year max.

2) Begin group organizing by demanding that your 401k plan implement a day-1-waterfall policy where what goes into your 401k is 100% yours, even the companies' contributions, it's an easy ask that really costs them nothing but allows you to take it with you even if you leave or are laid off.
