Running a game for four lvl 17 characters currently and designing encounters that even begin to challenge them feels nigh impossible. I'm not even sure how to be a serious threat to them.

A lot of encounters should be a breeze at that level, but I want them to at least feel challenged sometimes.

To be clear I don't think listening is inherently worse than reading. You're still putting in the time to consume and comprehend the book. It's still a valid way to do so.

It's listening to someone else read. Sure you're consuming the same content, but it's very explicitly not the act of reading text. Same outcome, different medium.

Also, reading comprehension and listening comprehension are two different skills. One should try to exercise both to their best ability
