The Sisters Brothers (Rewatch)
definitely appreciated this one a bit more than the first time i saw it. the four main actors do a great job in their roles, especially Phoenix and Reilly. it really picks up in the 2nd half and has a pretty heartfelt ending. very good drama western overall.

The Magnificent Seven
actually pretty cleverly written, despite the simple story. the dialogue alone is what carries this movie, but it helps that the performances are also pretty great. big credit to the score too, it really helped exemplify the film’s action scenes.

part action, part western, all really good. Russell Crowe’s and Christian Bale’s performances are really good here and they play good foils to each other’s characters. really good dialogue scenes, coupled with some great action. cinematography wasn’t all that special, though.

Sam Raimi’s direction really shines through here with the super fast paced camera movements. the action scenes were great and i really cared about the main characters. Gene Hackman played a great villain in this too.
