Animals are better than people. Even this one.
Ella Mary Leather, Elgar, Thomas Treherne, Alfred Watkins and hundreds of other topics that would have passed me by without Phil Rickman. He was one of my favourite authors and in the tradition of another, lost too soon (Terry Pratchett), I will continue to Speak His Name. #PhilRickman #SpeakHisName

I read The Wine of Angels one hot summer in my youth and was forever riveted by the tales of the Borders. I grew up with Jane (couldn't stand her at the start), walked alongside Lol during his mental health breakdown, learned to pronounce Eirion. I learned about Nick Drake, The Old Straight Track,

Just back from your incredible lecture at De Montfort Hall. Wow. So many questions. I'm going to be researching all night after this one. Many thanks, and loved the sparkly converses.

Saw him last week and he was bloody brilliant. You're going to have an absolute blast, and I'm a little jealous I can't see it too ;)

Please tell me your kid isn't called Storm....

Ah, thank you for that! I did wonder if the pronunciation was written out in other versions of the book, but of course, the Überwalders (and adjacent) would just say it. Appreciate the response!

I come bearing a question: is this a scan from the US version of Going Postal? Was Moist called 'Von Lipvig' in all of their printings, or just this one (rather than the 'Von Lipwig' of UK printings). Just got to scratch this curious itch at Elon's expense, sorry.

He lives on in you, and every word he wrote. While I can't imagine your loss, I know I miss him every day too. I hope knowing how many lives he touched makes today a little easier. #SpeakHisName #GNUTerryPratchett

A truly great man. I can't imagine my life without his wisdom, nor would I want to. He changed the way I thought about so much and made me think about things I hadn't considered. He will always be part of me. #SpeakHisName #GNUTerryPratchett

For me it's historical fiction. Even when it's done well, I feel conned as a history buff, because there's no way an author could *know* the way a character was feeling in the moment without accurate records.

Dry, dull answer, sorry!

I'm so glad I did. It was cathartic and felt it was the perfect farewell to #discworld. I read Discworld novels constantly, they are the building blocks of my adult life. If you don't know them, it's not to late to discover the wisdom and heart of a fabulous man. #GNUTerryPrattchet #SpeakHisName

I only managed to read it after @rhi.bsky.social made a heartfelt plea that we read her father's final #discworld novel. So, I braced myself, and read it. I cried. A lot. For all of the things. Grief at the loss of a beloved friend, series and world that I'd discovered as a teenager.
