New Supreme Court opinion gives agencies more autonomy in determining the appropriate analysis and alternatives for NEPA and takes a pretty big swipe at how environmental clearance has become much more than it was intended to be.

California with 40 million people by mid-century instead of 50 million people by mid-century means that our economy will likely be over a quarter smaller than it would otherwise be. (3/x)

I lived in Philadelphia when it had 1.5 million people after it was built for 2 million people (mid-century) and those missing 500,000 people were palpable. There were empty lots and abandoned buildings. Economic opportunities were constrained. (2/x)
