That's Dragon Quest VIII in the bag! After two different false starts on this one, I've finally seen it through to the end. Unsurprisingly, it captures all the magic and casual playfulness of the series perfectly. It's not my top top tier DQ game, but it's certainly standing on the podium. A+ game

After 18 amazing years, I had to say goodbye to my buddy Nero. He was an all-timer cat with a bottomless pool of love to give. A true bright spot that's been with me for almost half my life, but it was his time. Be sure to hug your pets often, cause these things happen slowly then all at once.

A score based cranker? Central pivot geometry wars? The progressive upgrade system is fun and makes runs unique. My only concern is that runs take way too long to get challenging, on normal difficulty it was 20 minutes before I felt pressured. Here's my score though, so go at it!
