An advantage of flying the long way round back from Japan is seeing greenland from the air, the northern lights out the window and technically crossing off the bucket list item of circumnavigating the globe.

I think I must have missed something about Pokemon pocket. Why have the released a set with a card missing art?

Doing the word cloud thing from bskyinsights.com I learnt two things. I don't post anywhere near as much as I used to in the other place. And I like talking about games.

We have 24hs left of the campaign and we are now fully funded. Thank you.

If you know someone who wants this HIV classroom education resource for the cheapest price we will ever sell it at, they have just enough time to make a last minute pledge.

We should keep talking about HIV. Why? Because we have the tools that means a HIV generation is within reach. But it is not a certainty. At the moment in England and Wales things may be going in reverse!

Heading into London for an exciting day of exciting meetings and planning with some wonderful teammates. Don't get to travel by train that often at the moment

I was curious to read this bit. The phrase that jumped out "when it was actually delivered"

Is this report saying something about mental health awareness interventions OR is it revealing something about the school context for these interventions. Are schools too busy/over whelmed to do this?

Today I launched my first Kickstarter with my work for @esteem-acetuk.bsky.social. Its a classroom pack of HIV education. 16 sets of a Routes of HIV transmission card sort. We have tested, reviewed & improved this for the last year and I am so excited to share it

Last December I wrote and shared 24 microgames that fit on a business card. You can download all 24 in a single file on itch.io.

This is one of the strangest but is my favourite.

Travelling for work I always go for the cheapest place I can get that is with 15min of the event venue. Occasionally I end up in hotels where I feel vastly underdressed.

Playing Pokémon splendor. And two additions compared to the base game have radically impacted how it plays. Firstly evolving Pokémon as a bonus action adds another level of strategy which is so satisfying. Secondly the Pokédex scorecard creates a mini legacy aspect that is a fun distraction.

Why aren't more games made with multiple ways to play them? Is it a cynical cash grab to sell more games or are game set with multiple ways to play less fun? Is it a design decision or a production decision? I tried making some rules for ticket to ride components www.blindfish.games/2023/12/fest...

Day 15 of 24 games that fit on the back of a business card. This one is very loosely based on the almost forgotten tradition of Ghost stories at Christmas.

Day 11 of 24 business card sized games. Today's game is a physical challenge game that works well across ages, heights and strength. Its all about balance and flexibility.

Did anyone else play this as a child? was it a Kent thing? or just my family?

So I felt compelled to make my own laser and feeling hack. Again exploring the card based RPG design space but this time only 1 card to represent a familiar/animal. It's roll under to do a Bold action and over to be Sly. But slight twist, not all characters use the same size dice.
November 15, 2023 at 11:32 AM
The backs of the cards hold the flavour text and an image to help players picture what each card is about. Again using colour to differentiate between mage exclusive options and generic options open to all classes.
