I was just tuning into the Game Awards to check for an announcement, when I noticed my Xbox was already downloading the update. Excited to go make new friends in the 90s AND get a rework for my old main (Nyx)!

You're not wrong. I think the big issue is that universal healthcare (or expanded Medicare, or even the conservative ACA) gets demonized as a government takeover. If we have candidates who can frame it in an anti-corporate light, maybe it will do better? The status quo is just objectively bad.

I thought the flashback episodes could have been easily condensed to a few scenes to keep up the present-day story momentum, and some dialogue could have benefited from another few drafts/revisions. I still enjoyed watching it, though.
But yeah, a lot of the "criticism" was just shallow rage-bait.

So let's say I've seen TOS, the Kirk movies, and a decent smattering of Next Generation (but not their films other than Generations). Oh, and the other-timeline films. Is that plenty to enjoy this show, or does it assume more complete franchise knowledge?

Also, according to the latest census, the median 401k-style or IRA account is around $30k, and only about half of Americans even have one.
