Remember when the Sixers got Chamberlain in trade. They were a well below .500 team before the trade, and after seemed like they never lost. Memory may not be completely accurate - I was only 7 or so.

One would expect squirrels to strongly prefer crunchy peanut butter. However we have run several controlled tests, repeatedly finding that not only do squirrels prefer smooth, but the preference is overwhelming - they will take a crappy smooth brand over an elite crunchy every time. Seriously

also been some great players who had enhanced value because they were immune to their home parks suppression of hitting. Biggio in HOU and Bonds in SF

For the most extreme players these profiles repeat far better than for gen pop, where Pull/FB arent as sticky as other attributes. But Arenado/J Ramirez did it for yrs, and Paredes has been 2.7-3 StDvs above on Pull FB 3 yrs in row. His raw FB rate is just above avg so its more ???

Dick Allen should be a slam dunk HOF. Garvey was right place/time -defensive value scooping up bad throws was incredibly hi on that team - awful defensive IF. It stood out every game back then

Joe Morgan was an absolute monster for the mid-70s Reds, which was a juggernaut of a team. He was a great defender at 2B, hit .290-300+ w K rate around 8%, had incredible OBP due to his 19% BB rate, put up 20-25 HR w 50-60 SB. Had a long career and was always great, but peaked w Reds team.

Not sure its just morality with Bauer - there may also be a substantial personality issue. Teams may be willing to overlook one or the other, both is a hard sell. Teams want veteran players to set an example

Suspect this had to do with poor offense back then. Teams used dreadful hitters in premium defensive pos SS/C/CF, plus no DH, so SB were alot more attractive. HR were low too. Changes the equation.
