I made one report for each hour of the day: small squares drawn with wax pastels, interrupted sentences, one short minute at a time.
In the end, the sky is the sky, so a temporary change in format like this can still make sense, which is nice to realise.

I usually like to take milestones as excuses to try something new and confusing with Reports. This year, I missed the 5-year anniversary back in March, so the 2000 days anniversary had to be extra new and confusing.

Look at the little hats on this cloud, these are pileus, accessory clouds (pilei if you do the latin plural)

In the middle of the clouds, some large figures emerge. They are humanoid, filled with landscapes of their own. One, emerging up to its chest, features a pink sunset sky over a field, with a yellow waxing crescent moon. The other one, fully out of the clouds, is a dusk landscape, fields and mountains from a bird’s eye view. More birds in the sky. The clouds open up to a road amidst autumn trees. The road loops in on itself in the sky. In the middle of the loop, a yellow sun in a blue-green clouds looping as well. The trees are shades of green, brown, yellow, orange, and red. There are a few houses, and an old, red car driving up the loop. The last figure contains a dark grey starry night sky. The preliminary sketch of the drawing, drawn in pencil and coloured pencil in a sketchbook. A work-in-progress picture of the last stretch of the drawing.

In the middle of a golden field, an immense black hole is open, with a huge 14-branch star in the middle. There are people gathered around the hole, staring down. There are concentric grooves in the field around the hole, a couple of crows flying around. A continuation of the field, same grooves, another crow. There are ghost-like figures in the field, some very large, and others tiny. There are white clouds floating above. The field comes to an end near a beach. Someone is pushing a boat into the ocean, with another person inside. The waves are blue-green, frothy. More clouds floating. The ocean gets deeper, bluer, darker. There is a circle of large, glowing, pink and yellow fish swimming around another. The clouds are multiplying, pooling, darkening.

The four-meter long drawing I worked on this summer, finally finished.
A very long pastel drawing spanning several different surreal landscapes and scenes, described in further detail in the next image descriptions. I used an M fold with a bunch of counter folds. I was concerned that the flowers would be too fragile, but it opens up nicely, and I haven’t noticed any damage so far. I’m excited to learn new techniques!

Different skies drawn in wax pastel, arranged in panels of different sizes, all stuck to one another on a sketchbook page. Just in case you came across this thread randomly, I've been drawing the sky every day since March 2020 as part of a meteorological fiction project called Reports From Unknown Places About Indescribable Places. You can find it here: @clever-reports.bsky.social

I got this absolute gem of a book for myself, a collection of some of the works of André des Gachons, an artist who observed and reported the weather daily according to his own system for decades. This is the first book published by Phénomène, a brand new French publishing house.

I made a tunnel book for the first time this weekend
