Moana the black and white tuxedo cat hunkers under the covers, not allowing me to make the bed. She has one eye, slightly open, to glare at me for disturbing her, and for allowing VP Harris not to be the next president. I remind her that I donated to Representatives Crockett’s and Vindman’s, as well as to Biden’s and Harris’s campaigns, but she is not impressed. She and I will need to review our fitness journey to address the medicinal cat treats (for her) and ice cream (for me) we will need to abide the next few weeks. Mo is still wearing her (faux) pearl and lace pink collar with the seashell charm; when she wants a new look she will remove the collar. She is not shy. I leave it to the fashion press to predict whether she will choose florals, sequins, or other design elements for her next look.

It’s embarrassing but I used to buy everything but gas and prescriptions from Amazon, Amazon Fresh, and Whole Foods. I was spending thousands of dollars. Bezos’s support of Trump and unrepentant conflict of interest in the Washington Post have compelled me to overspend elsewhere. #BoycottAmazon

Today was chilly and drizzly, with “conversational snow.” It was a perfect day for taking a nap, even with your cat sister. Figaro encourages naps no matter the weather: in the second photo, he found a sunbeam for napping.

Moana the tuxedo cat, and her older brother, Figaro, the orange cat, are sleeping on a bed. Moana is using Figaro’s back legs and rump as a pillow. Doesn’t she know that big brothers often toot? I question her judgment here. Figaro, the orange cat, is sleeping in a ray of sunshine on an upholstered chair. On the chair, underneath Figaro, is a fleece pad, which keeps the cat hair off the chair, and has something inside it to reflect a cat’s body heat. The pad is ugly, and looks terrible on this chair. I hope nobody judges my lack of interior design aptitude. Figaro, fortunately, does not care.
