Interesting. I always start with a character talking to themselves. And based on what comes to mind from their developing personality, I'll start giving them things to do and places to go.

People take ghosting too hard sometimes. Especially when the alternative might be them looking at you and saying, "Quite frankly, you sicken me, and if I have to keep interacting with you, I'm going to puke.:"

Yeah, just cut me off. I don't need that memory haunting me for the rest of my life.

I do this as a subtle way of warning readers that this person is a phony or otherwise untrustworthy. 8 times out of 10, readers perceive it as a continuity error. (2/2)
