The 2025 DC United season is over, and the Wooden Spoon will be in our hands for the next year. It's certainly a season to forget, even if there were a couple of nice moments. Back when this site was Black & Red United, we used to have a Cake or Death (Goat or Fox) segment every offseason where we went through each of the players on the roster to evaluate whether the community would want them back.

Wildly disappointing considering Temwa Chawinga has also received racial and transphobic abuse. It would be nice for all teams to be proactive about backing and protecting all players instead of waiting for something else to happen.
In keeping with this theme, I reached out to KC Current to see if they would be commenting on the issues below. They will not be issuing a separate statement outside of the one already issued by the league earlier today.
I have reached out to the Washington Spirit comms for comment on the recent comments from Elizabeth Eddy and Jennifer Sey.

Barbra is one of the many talented women in this league. But, she doesn't have to have talent for us to stand with her and say she does not deserve any of the hatred she receives on a regular basis. She deserves respect. I stand with her and ride for her in any weather.
