Clyde Drexler scored 48 points in the Blazers victory over the San Antonio Spurs Drexler, who also recorded 6 rebounds, 6 steals, 3 assists and 3 blocked shots, finished two points shy of his career-high, but not for lack of trying by teammates. "We were just trying to get Clyde 50," said Danny Ainge. "We were not trying to show up the Spurs." For the Spurs, David Robinson recorded the fifth 20/20 game of his career, finishing with 25 points and 20 rebounds. In addition, Robinson blocked 9 shots, nearly registering his seventh triple-double. When Drexler connected on a jumper late in the third quarter, which not only added to the Blazers lead over the San Antonio Spurs, it gave him the 15K point in his career. Drexler became the 62nd player, and 14th active player, to reach the 15K career mark, but more importantly, the first Blazers player to reach the mark. The six time NBA All-Star and Dream Team member was quick to praise his teammates post-game. “A lot of guys had a lot to do with it, especially the ones who have been passing me the ball all these years,” said Drexler, who added, “Duck (Kevin Duckworth) is going to remind me who passed me the ball on that shot--probably, it will be about 20 times a game.” With the win, the defending Western Conference Champion move to an 8-0 record, and are the only undefeated team in the NBA. It is the third time Portland has opened the season with an 8-0 record. As a member of the Houston Rockets, Drexler scored 17 points in a victory against the Los Angeles Lakers to reach the 20K career point mark. Drexler becomes the 24th NBA to reach the plateau, and the sixth player to accumulate 20K points, 5K rebounds, and 5K assists.

Neal finished with 28 points and pulled down 8 rebounds, as well as blocking a career-high 8 shots in the win. Neal connected on 9-of-12 FGA and 10-of-12 FTA in 43 minutes. "Lloyd has been doing a great job for us," said Geoff Petrie, who scored 20 points in the second half to match Neal in the scoring department for the game. Replacing the sidelined BillWalton, LaRue Martin and Steve Hawes combined for 17 points and 11 rebounds, limiting the Braves center Bob McAdoo to 18 points and 10 rebounds. McAdoo was averaging a league high 33.4 points entering the game.

November 22, 1992 - Coaching his 288th game with the @trailblazers.bsky.social , Rick Adelman posted the 200th victory faster than any other coach in @nba.com History.

The previous fastest to 200 wins, held by three Hall of Fame coaches, was 289 games, held by John Kundla of the Minneapolis Lakers, Billy Cunningham of the Philadelphia 76ers, and Pat Riley of the Los Angeles Lakers. Adelman held the distinction for 31 days, when Phil Jackson reached 200 wins with the Chicago Bulls in 270 games. Steve Kerr would eventually set the bar even lower in 2017, taking 238 games to get to 200 victories. In the victory against the Detroit Pistons, Clifford Robinson and Rod Strickland came off the bench to help the Blazers to the win. Robinson finished with 20 points while Strickland recorded the first triple-double of his career, scoring 11 points, grabbing 10 rebounds and passed for 13 assists.

Drexler, who's number 22 was retired by the Blazers in 2001, was inducted into the HOF on Sept. 10. He is the sixth person associated with the team to make the HOF. A banner with the names was unfurled to a standing ovation. The Rockets pulled off the road win when Tracy McGrady hit a jumper with 13.2 seconds remaining to seal the victory. It is the third time in the Blazers first nine games they have lost in the final seconds.

Larry Steele and Tom Owens each scored 17 points to lead the Blazers with Dave Twardzik adding 15 points. Bill Walton grabbed a game-high 16 rebounds.

The Cavaliers scored 67 points, the lowest by an opponent that would hold until the #DenverNuggets were held to 65 points in 1996. The previous low of 77 points was set by the #ChicagoBulls and tied by the #Sixers in the 1975/76 season. In addition, the Cavs set lows with 10 points in a quarter and 27 FGM in the game that would hold until the Nuggets game in 1996. Cleveland FG percentage of .267 (27-for-101), a percentage by an opponent still is the lowest by an opponent. Walt Frazier was taken to the hospital at halftime after re-injuring his foot. The fear was he fractured his foot, but X-rays proved negative.

In their typical shoot-out, Drexler and Michael Jordan led their teams in scoring, with Jordan finishing with 29 points and adding 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Drexler finished with 7 rebounds and 9 assists. Kevin Duckworth added 25 points with Terry Porter adding 18 points and passing for 10 assists. Scottie Pippen helped Jordan with 16 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, and 4 steals. For Drexler, this is the fourth straight game he has scored 30 points or more, tying the second longest such streak in team history. Geoff Petrie reached the four game streak three times, with the last in March 1974. Petrie holds the team record with five games, set in his last five games of his rookie season. After averaging 32.8 points, 7 rebounds, and 8.8 assists in the four-game stretch, Drexler selected as the NBA Player Of The Week. It is the eighth time Drexler has received the award. The win ties the team record of consecutive wins to start a season, first set in the 1979/80 season. The NBA record is 15 games, set by the Washington Capitols in 1948. The Blazers had won the last four games in the 1989/90 season, pushing this current streak to 13 games.

Fryer, a 7th round draft pick in 1972 by the #PhoenixSuns, finished with 21 points and 6 assists as he helped Portland recover from a 66-71 deficit heading into the final quarter. "It's the biggest thrill of my professional career, so far anyway," said Fryer, who connected on 9-of-11 FGA. Sidney Wicks led the way with 23 points and 13 rebounds while Geoff Petrie added 20 points. Rick Roberson added 10 rebounds to the win.

Rick Roberson, who had the game-sealing steal with :23 seconds remaining, added 17 points and 14 rebounds. Lanier, who grabbed 16 rebounds to add to his stat line. connected on 19-of-29 FGA. It is the eighth time Lanier has topped 40 points in his career, and the third time against the Blazers.

There have been nine games in which four Blazers topped 20 points prior to today, the last game being on January 25, 1983. In that game, vs the @Lakers, the four players were Carr, Natt, Paxson, and Thompson.
