Equally bad maybe worse is their use of “Sorcerer” to mean at-will caster in 1987. Like sure maybe you could argue that’s homebrew at their table, but come on.

Many cases where I’ve spent what’s essentially an 8 hour workday prepping ahead of a session and then have no energy to actually run the thing well. 100% of the time those would’ve been better if I came in rested/fired up and just winged the whole thing.

Sometimes I picture a version of the X-Files that’s planned and has continuity and my brain short circuits. A show that good probably isn’t allowed to exist.

Love the X-Files so much but it can be hard to rewatch knowing that nothing really means anything. The high concept episodes become so annoying because every episode takes place in a self-contained universe. Time travel is real and the timeline is on a loop! Scully is literally immortal! Pointless!

Counting Gears of War 1 here for sure.
