Sorry, you voted for Trump, which means you voted against the existence of common sense.
It’s unknown what Eriksen’s fate will be, but it’s looking increasingly likely he’ll be removed from the country, barred from re-entry, and permanently separated from his wife and kids. Hopefully, justice and common sense will prevail, and he’ll be released from this unjust detention. And if that happens maybe, just maybe he’ll consider whether supporting Republicans is a smart move.

He told us that, had it been a couple of months earlier, during the previous administration, the situation would have probably been different. With the new administration, things have changed a lot, so they had to treat me like they were going to.”

In November, Mississippi father-of-four Kasper Eriksen couldn’t wait to see Donald Trump return as president. Six months later, he was in chains and being deposited in the nightmarish Central Louisiana ICE Processing Center, tossed into a cramped cell with 100 other unfortunate people snatched off the streets by ICE.

We should not, for now at least, be comforted by the legal ruling that future “disappearances” require a modicum due process given that the Trump’s administration underlying argument in these cases is that once they get you out into international waters, no laws, court orders, or due process apply at all and everything that happens thereafter is totally out of bounds for legal review. This is “dropping-people-from-helicopters-into-the-ocean” legal logic.

In a functioning democracy, these are questions that should be thoroughly answered BEFORE granting access.
In over a dozen lawsuits in federal courts around the country, judges have demanded that DOGE explain why it needs such expansive access to sensitive data on Americans, from Social Security records to private medical records and tax information. But the Trump administration has been unable to give consistent and clear answers, largely dismissing cybersecurity and privacy concerns.

There's that Russian connection 'total coincidence' again.
Within minutes after DOGE accessed the NLRB's systems, someone with an IP address in Russia started trying to log in, according to Berulis' disclosure. The attempts were "near real-time," according to the disclosure. Those attempts were blocked, but they were especially alarming. Whoever was attempting to log in was using one of the newly created DOGE accounts — and the person had the correct username and password, according to Berulis. While it's possible the user was disguising their location, it's highly unlikely they'd appear to be coming from Russia if they wanted to avoid suspicion, cybersecurity experts interviewed by NPR explained.
