My favorite part of this Good Morning America interview with Jefferson Fisher is when Gio says, "It's like every page is an aha moment."

I can confirm that statement.

Excellent advice from Courtney Maum (as usual):

"Over the years, I’ve crafted checklists and checkpoints and exercises to help discern whether my own writing is in gatekeeper-shape, and the most effective benchmark I know is something I created called 'The Question Mark' exercise."

In my email newsletter going out tomorrow, I'm talking about a piece of writing advice I give to nearly every author I work with.

It may not be new to you.

Then again, it may unlock something for you.

Did you know that Arthur C. Clarke initially recorded a voiceover for 2001: A Space Odyssey?

Kubrick removed it in editing.

To set a better personal writing rhythm (outside of client work) for this year, I'm offering 300 words or fewer every Tuesday through my email newsletter. I talk about writing, editing, and publishing.

The most terrifying monsters I’ve ever seen are the time eaters from Legion, a bonkers TV series based on the Marvel comic of the same name.

Tomorrow around this time, I'll be sending out my first email newsletter for this year. For 2025, I'm committing to once a week, every Tuesday, 300 words or fewer. My main topics won't be surprising: #writing, #reading, #editing, and #publishing.

Bonus points if it's hosted or embedded on your own site.

This is for the #book collectors: If you collect series, what series do you collect (e.g., Penguin Clothbound Classics, Canterbury Classics, Modern Library)?

And please provide a reason or two why you opted for that series over others.

I'm wrestling with some hard decisions over here. : )

What a nice surprise to see book coaching client Jefferson Fisher's "The Next Conversation" featured in this Oprah Daily roundup. Her team is spot on: "It’s an incredibly useful, dog-ear-every-other-page guide readers will go back to again and again."

Publishing my inconsistent email newsletter this morning reminded me of the deep value of persistent content creation.

I've heard back from friends, former clients, and new leads.
