Woah, didn't realize TigerBeetle had so many users already:

senapt, thndr, super, mojaloop, interledger, pesawise, barion, fynbos, fluidly, and a bunch more... 🤯

I expected a ledger DB to be useful, but dang!

Concordia is a library for generative agent-based modeling that works like a table-top role-playing game.

It's open source and model agnostic.

Try it today!

Just got pointed to this amazing clip from @sirupsen.bsky.social on why object storage DBs are appearing now. He lists three things:

1️⃣ NVMe/SSD wasn't GA on AWS until 2018
2️⃣ S3 wasn't formally launched until Dec 2020 (WHAT?!?!)
3️⃣ S3 didn't have CAS until a month ago
How would you design a database on Object Storage?

My CMU talk on using the #FDAP stack to build #InfluxDB 3.0 is up! It starts off with some intro to the problem space, but then gets into some of our database journey, how we use DataFusion, and a bit about the upcoming open source architecture: www.youtube.com/watch?v=AGS4...

Reading about distributed systems can be challenging because terminology is used inconsistently

For example synchronous may refer to:
• Time-bounded communication
• Rendezvous-style communication

These aren't subtle variations - they're fundamentally different

Agents are just finite state machines 🤯. Love posts like this that give context and history on overloaded terms.
