"You might not want to sit down and read a five-paragraph essay about the Comstock Act, but if I can give it to you with pictures, it’s different."

Thrilled to be joined by @aubreyhirsch.bsky.social on my latest episode. Listen: bit.ly/relationscap...

RIP Ozzy! 🪦🤘

Sometimes when Spence would give me a ride in his Honda CR-X he'd blast the Ozzmosis album through his enormous sound system, exposing my virgin ears to greater and greater danger. I saw that album cover. It was clearly demonic!

But then there was a song on that album...

Dr. Ronald Levant, who was president of the
APA at the time and whose research deeply informed the guidelines, joins me tomorrow on the Relationscapes podcast. Together with Shana Pryor he wrote The Tough Standard. 2/2

Back in 2018, the American Psychological Association released a landmark set of guidelines on masculinity, identifying toxic social norms that are killing boys and men. You won't be shocked to hear that
reactionary centrists and right-wing enthusiasts lost their collective sh*t... 1/2

Also, King Idiot had the chart printed out on a poster board which he held up while standing behind a podium with most of the poster obscured by the podium like a f*cking moron.

I was heartened to see @davidpakman.bsky.social talking about his own struggles with this, since it's HIS JOB to consume and discuss political news. His new book is a plea for Americans to become more media literate, not just to safeguard mental health, but also to try and save our failing country.

Did you know attachment parenting is built on a scientific foundation of sand? Sure, it offers some helpful parenting ideas. But it also gives moms especially unrealistic and unrelenting pressures to be perfect! Latest ep of my podcast features Nancy Reddy. Listen: www.relationscapes.org/e/reddy/

Frank Racioppi scours the Internet to find independent hidden-gem podcasts. See, the algorithms are configured to boost big shows with big advertisers. But indie shows like mine rely on word of mouth from reg listeners. So I was thrilled that Frank featured my show in his Ear Worthy column! Wooo. 🥳

Where are you seeing this chatter? I loved Maggie Smith's. Interviewed her on my podcast.

When my partner is out of town I love serving the kids what I call "weird breakfast." Waffles and ice cream. It's simply delicious and the kids love it.

Pee-wee was a huge influence on me as a kid. He made it cool to be weird, which I was, and although I didn't know it at the time, he helped normalize queerness. And he was targeted for that. I grabbed this mag as soon as I saw it.

New episode dropped! This one's about the unequal division of labor in so many families, with the "female role" bearing the brunt of it. I say female role because this sexist circumstance exists in many queer relationships as well, regardless of gender identity. Joined by @katemangino.bsky.social.
