I'm guessing Zoids were a pretty big thing in the UK back then? It was all Transformers and He-Man here in Australia, never recalled seeing any Zoids until much later in life.

Heck, I picked up a copy of this exact mag in the 2000s and was surprised something "obscure" got front cover!

I read that as "prepper odyssey" to start with and was real confused

Ahh, as an Aussie reading Mean Machines/C&VG back then it was frustrating realising just how much we didn't get here!

Weirdly those AES prices adjusted for inflation aren't far off what you pay for most of those games (at least in AUD) these days either. ouch

I seem to recall the verdict was it's an inoffensive 3d sonic game. if it's pretty cheap, can't go wrong even if you only get a handful of hours out of it

Ahh, shame I missed you on Friday!

I wonder if it was the KPOP DH person I heard on Sunday as well?

Taking suggestions of games to pop on in the classic area if you happen to be attending PAX Aus. An area full of classic Ocean platformers would feel about right, yeah?

Although it's not 40 disk MS Office for Mac time. No one has time for that.

I'm not looking forward to this either. Feels like something we didn't vote for, but is being rammed through without any sort of serious public consultation or actual expert opinion :(

That’s really sad to hear, feels like that’s almost something you could’ve put on the Vita’s epitaph - “no one touched it..” :(

That aside - congrats on it. AAC still is a hell of a game!

Always sad the PS Vita version never came to light, but probably the right call given the system/install base was pretty much dead by that point

Compared to the majestic beauty of a Universal Mr. Do cabinet, this feels offensive

I'm one of those odd people who like Resurrection. It's flawed as hell & feels like (bad) fanfic, but there's something genuinely stupid about it that appeals.

Swimming aliens! Ripley basketball! Wheelchair shotguns! And that religious Synthetic church hacking thing. Man it was a weird trip.

That title screen is so DOS it hurts. Much like a programmer's feet
September 7, 2025 at 11:03 PM
Nah, this looks like it was owned by a local as was a couple of Aussie mags in the lot from the same era.

But I’d also wager we did that too.

Hey @jazrignall.bsky.social, is it too late to send in the feedback the previous owner of these mags wanted to share with you guys? 😂

More room for Lorcana or whatever that silly Disney TCG is I guess.
