Here's the very first trailer we released for Blade Kitten, which we used to promote it to media and publishers at GDC 2009. We were going to publish it ourselves on PlayStation but Atari picked it up, and we ended up on Xbox and PC as well a year later.

Back in 2010, we had a limited run of figurines made. 50 all up, which we sold on the Krome website the day the game released. They sold out in a couple of hours.

Getting on the relaunch #1 of Gamefan was a highlight for me. Gamefan and EGM were my two go-to mags in the SNES/Megadrive era to scour the images of Japanese games.

I like drawing cute chibi versions of the characters as much as I like designing costumes. So yes, I do them a lot 😊 I have a huge print of this as the first thing you see when you enter my front door.

As proud as I am of what we did in the game, I'm still bummed that I didn't get to have the original idea that the levels were all separate "2D dungeons" that you found as you flew around the overworld on a GT.

This was my first "list" of potential costumes for Kit in the game. We did get most of them in the game which makes me pretty happy.

The very first version of the BK comic was more outland sci-fi with a group of farmers being attacked by Darque and Kit saves them. I decided to drop us into Kit in a fight instead.
These characters are now getting used in Gunwale 20+ years later. Reuse/recycle 😊

So in the early 2000s I really wanted to finally make a game with a full-on anime aesthetic as opposed to the semi-anime stuff I had done previously. I figured the best way to get things going was to make a weekly comic for the web, which was also a new thing back then.

Today it's all about the gear. Here's the concept sheet for Kit's breaker gear, even down to the boot pattern. Not that we needed it, but I thought it would be fun to have.

I'm over here thinking that since this year is the 15th anniversary of the game's release, and about 10 years since I did the original Ultomato comic collection... Maybe it's a good time to do a new extended edition with all the other comic bits.
