Hymie the Coyote has grown used to me very this year and sometimes we just observe each other.

Sadly, the one-legged Road Runner didn't make it. Without both legs, I knew he would not last long, they don't fly well. R.I.P. little guy.

Oh oh. Some folks leave kibble out and they learn to raid neighborhoods. It's one of the realities of living with nature (at least where I'm residing...) Here's Sarah with pups Moses and Chana...Louie is not visible. They let me hang pretty close now.

I'm taking photos of a coyote family I've been following all year. Here is the patriarch, Hymie, taking a break from eating all the prickly pear fruits he can gorge on today.

Over the year I've watched Hymie become a partner, dad, mentor, and protector. And an avid connoisseur of prickly pear fruits which he had for breakfast today.
