But it's probably often the case that some number cruncher vetoes money being spent on a scene less than 5% of players will ever see.
Makes the art form less rich overall, IMO!

yeah, i wouldn't recommend this task to unresourced teams or first-time devs.
but as the cost of AAA development balloons, you see more and more teams w/ actual resources shy away from meaningful narrative interactivity.
that's the area where i wish ppl were allowed to push harder

to be fair, we're a two person team who's self-funded all our work! the timeline constraints on Scarlet Hollow were more financial than anything else, and by the time we're done, the whole project will have taken about 5 years of full-time work, hardly an outlier!
but maybe i'll eat my hat on this!

to be fair, we're a two person team who's self-funded all our work! the timeline constraints on Scarlet Hollow were more financial than anything else, and by the time we're done, the whole project will have taken about 5 years of full-time work, hardly an outlier!
