Yeah looking at the different tracking method it looks great. I would hate dealing with drift from slimes cuz it can't be perfect. Using magnetic field is very cool and probably will be my solution after base stations

That looks nice if needed def a good option! Realistically I have a few months before I need to make a move. I imagine it will be a few months after release before I can get a frame

actually a tundra is a great solution cuz its got that one plate that attaches to like a belt that can hopefully go on the extra comfort I'll have to buy anyway for the knuckle strap 😅

Gonna have to go unicorn gang like quest perhaps 😅lucky I have an extra tracker laying around or if I can get my hands on a singular tundra tracker that would be the most lightweight

Def promising also seems base stations are a pulse laser not sustained so not quite the same as an emitter so not sure they would help assist the already built in emitter in the headset.

Def promising also seems base stations are a pulse laser not sustained so not quite the same as an emitter so not sure they would help assist the already built in emitter in the headset.

Bright side (pun intended) cuz base stations flood the area with IR light it should help improve the headset tracking at least 😅 or something like that

@valvesoftware.com what say you? Any word if Steam Frame will be seamless with Vive 2.0/3.0 trackers and base station without having to do some weird playspace merging? Would be cool to know 😇

Yeah need to wait and see in general native steam vr stuff is pretty plug and play. Also need to see timeline on hd audio strap and corrective lenses that are not announced yet. But if all these last details come together I'm willing to pay quite a bit for it 😅 I'll get the hours from it

Time will tell for sure. Foviated steaming (not rendering) and IR inside out so you can still VR in the dark, other headset straps with better audio eventually, and more. Feel hope for it atm

Feel it's got a lot going for it as a 4 year index user. If people happen with quest just keep it. Even if I had it I'd never use passthrough. I feel the frame has good details about how it'll work. Although not base station tracked I wonder if it will work with vive trackers since it's all steam vr
