That was when the franchise just REALLY wanted to have Noire suffer for no discernible reason, like she had tragedies implied or directly shown in each game until after VII, when they thought that calling her a loner from time to time was enough.
Hyperdevotion is still her one and only happy ending.

I haven't seen much discussion nor praise on this topic, but the background design in Neptunia can be gorgeous at times, these are just examples of Lastation (My favorite) but the Planeptower itself is so iconic it should deserve an essay on it.
