I nod. "I'll come with you. Need to return these confusing books anyway. Plus, just sitting here thinking isn't helping anything. And even out here where people are few and far between, I should wait until after dark to run."

I nod and grab the paper I've been making notes on. "Mythology and religion? Like the lady at the library suggested?" -the only person so far who hasn't looked at us like we're crazy-

"So maybe there is someone at one of these places who teaches this stuff who might be able to help?"

I take a bite and hum. "Oh...like the neighbour's son...uh...Evan? Claire brought that pie over yesterday and was talking about how much she missed having boys to feed since he went away to...university." -hate it when she wants to talk. I never understand what she's talking about.-

I quietly say, "We need to find someone who understands this shit. When I read the theoretical books I feel like the words and numbers are just...swimming on the pages."

"Morning." I take a bite.

I take my plate and coffee to the table and sit down next to the pile of mythology and theoretical science books we got from the library nearby. -not that either of us are the smartest, but we need to find our way home. there has to be a way home.-
