The chaotic adventure of 4 dogs, occasionally sheep and their visually impaired owner

Guide, mobility and psychiatric assistance dog, dog sports, disabilities, dog training and everything else dog

Good r+/FF training info is also hard to find. Many people turn to using aversive because they don't have another option. Not teaching people who already have tools on their dogs just adds another barrier

Many handlers (and myself included) use aversive tools to feel safer, so we know in an emergency we can physically move the dog.

Heavy mobility dogs tend to be larger dogs, which means handlers with less physical strength tend to be paired with stronger dogs

The right people could definitely have a gsd with children but looking at how most people let their children interact, I wouldn't recommend it

This! My puppies have had accidents (in pet friendly shops) we cleaned it up! Which is the important part because when you take living animals or children into shops, there is always a chance of an accident

Sadly some countries are really struggling with fake service/assistance dogs

Pikelet 1y WL english springer, we got her as a sports dog, found out after a lot of behaviour issues that she has hip dysplasia. I am hoping we can still do low impact sports!

Pepsi 1y WL german shepherd, hopefully future guide, mobility and psychiatric assistance dog, currently reactive
