You could point to other entries, Switzerland and UK did reasonably well on jury vote but got zero on public vote. You can interpret it as the public vote getting influenced as much as the jury vote tbh. Austria though deserved winners.

It wasn't the best song though? Austria won fairly. A highly technical song and popular enough with audience vote. That's leaving aside any political issues which it would not be unreasonable to consider too!

Without sounding mean or crass the rest of the vote is split between the rest of the countries. It's a bit like first part the post. You don't need the most votes, just the most votes relative to everyone else.

I actually feel for Blades' fans that was us last year and it was awful. Still makes for good propaganda if nothing else!
