Eugenie Clark was a Japanese American scientific pioneer who was a world authority on sharks and fish. In 1955 she built the Cape Haze Marine Laboratory. Her work dispelled the negative assumptions of shark behavior. She conducted 72 submersible dives, her last at age 92.
