So incredibly moving hearing Stacey Abrams speak yesterday. She said something so powerful about the many ways we can work on democratic process in this time.

“I can’t know what influence I’ll have so I try to stay curious. Work in teams to solve problems. Do good. And pull every lever I can”.

So incredibly moving and strengthening hearting Timothy Snyder last night “On Freedom”. Such profound wisdom about how true freedom comes from being part of and co-creating an interconnected caring world where we help each other flourish.

Luscious roses always make me think of this favorite Mary Oliver:
“when everything has already been more than enough
the wild beds start exploding
day after day
you sit near them
the honey keeps on coming
in the red cups & the bees
like amber drops roll
in the petals: there is no end,
believe me!”

I’ve just been thinking about the incredibly powerful and tender connection between these two women as well, dear Penny ❤️

Watching the incredibly moving livestream celebration of Joanna Macy’s life filled with poetry, music, working through the Spiral that Reconnects, making room for gratitude, pain, love, and generosity.

So powerful to feel even beyond her death, her generative tenderness pouring through..

All honor and blessing to this vibrant, tender hearted, and determined advocate for our living world, Jane Goodall. May we carry on her spirit and her deep care.

Seeing videos of her holding her beloveds & encouraging young people all the way up to this last year, never fails to evoke emotion.

Those who help us re-enchant our relationship with the world are such vital weavers.

So moved at the serendipity of this beloved creative project Lost Words and Spell Songs by Jackie Morris and @robgmacfarlane.bsky.social
being on exhibit while I was in town.

One of my favorite luminous images from this week of collective imagination, and collaboration @forestofimaginatn.bsky.social

Led by wonder-weaver @penahay.bsky.social, feeling the interconnectedness between so many dear ones and the more-than-human world, vibrating with life and possibility.

The delightful experience of seeing four-year-olds learn all the colors you can make and paint with earth pigments, taught by the marvelous Pippa Pixley @forestofimaginatn.bsky.social.

What a moving experience to see this tactile, playful contact with earth joy, with tiny (& adult!) wonder ones.

From Francis Weller’s new book: “In the Absence of the Ordinary: Soul Work for Times of Uncertainty—Essays on grief, change, and sacred transitions”

Even the title is a solace of attunement.

This quote from Gillian Mitchell really moved me today.

The power of hearing classical concert piano played right by the ocean was so deep. “In A Landscape” is a beautiful project imagined by pianist Hunter Noack to bring more people together with public lands and the medicine of music. A vision and beauty that I feel so.

Morning balm for this time of great loss and trouble. Weaving between beauty and grief, contemplation and action often these days.

Ahh yes, so rich that in interconnection, it’s all one circle… Made me think of this favorite quote by @adriennemareebrown.bsky.social.

Worked with community today on a cob cottage. In the midst of so much heartache and uncertainty, working with others, working with my hands, close to the forest felt both orienting and heartening.

“Come with me
into the field of sunflowers.
Their faces are burnished disks…
so heavy and many,
fill all day with the sticky
sugars of the sun…

Come
and let us talk with those modest faces,
the simple garments of leaves,
the coarse roots in the earth
so uprightly burning.”
Mary Oliver

“Poems of tenderness and belonging”... balm for all the heartache.

A stunning anthology of LGBTQ+ and friends’ poetry curated by the wonderful writers and dear couple James Crews and Brad Peacock.

It was so moving to hear them read when they came to Portland @powells.bsky.social this spring.

These incredibly potent words from the luminous Andrea Gibson. “Paint with color… show them what you’re FOR”.

Feeling deeply too with their birthday being yesterday, how their life *and* death has been birthing us into Great presence.
