Between you and @mattdoyle.bsky.social let's just cover MLS exclusively with Tolkien and Lewis references.

Agreed, not the move we need in terms of definitely raising the floor or ceiling of the team, but thinking of guys like Arfsten and Farsi who were not highly rated before, but flourished in Columbus' system and crossing my fingers that our new system could do something similar for Edelmann

Assuming City goes to more of a ball control system and Edelman is coming out of RBNY, is there untapped potential in a more ball dominant system?

Right, the way I heard you say it last night made it seem that there was no way City would be able to free up that U22 spot. But I guess you were just saying his loan is not changing anything and just didn't mention the option to unfreeze that slot if needed.

I thought I heard it discussed that City could change the contract to non-U22 if they were willing to just accept the larger budget charge if they wanted to free up that slot. Is that still an option or was that not possible to begin with?

B/c of conference and schedule "opposing team" feels nominal. If it was SKC or CHI then it would feel a little different. The other factor is MLS' financial structure isn't close to what we expect it be in 10-20 years. Whereas EPL, La Liga, etc. are, so it's easier to "hate" the big spenders.

Why hate it? I get it, easy villain to cheer against during the season and I'm right there with you on that. But personally, I love it. Raise the ceiling of what can be done with an MLS roster, eliminating standard excuses and put the onus on the other owners to step up their game.

And this nasty Katniss, I call her "Krazy Kat", she just had to go ruin it all. But Snow had some great ideas and I think we could use some of them." 3/3

...(yes, he would get it wrong). She wouldn't participate in the games. Emperor Snow, one of the best leaders I've ever seen... Not better than me, but pretty good... He just wanted these young people to compete for the pride of their districts. 2/

It's almost like the interim leadership left Wray with minimal roster flexibility 🤦

On the other hand, can we make sure we get the clip of him saying we need to come up with a new name for American football out to MAGA? Might actually lead to him getting impeached with bipartisan support 😉

Did you know they hosted the 2010 Winter Olympics here?

No way to know since "training" is private 🤦

So is he being fined like you mentioned the other night?
October 30, 2025 at 10:07 PM
1. Firing Carnell

2. Hiring Olaf (this should count as 5 more items)

3. Firing Lutz AFTER the transfer window (you can argue if he should have been fired or not; but doing it right after is dumb)

4. Giving Burki a non-TAMable deal when no one else would have come close

Equals "mishandled" for me

To be fair, not only are there a lot of unanswered questions, but the club has done little to nothing the past 24 months to inspire confidence in the organizational structure and decision making processes. Montreal and DC are the standard for poorly run clubs, but currently we're in the next tier.

I had to triple take the schedule when I looked at it yesterday to make sure that was correct
