The traditional industry name for consumer electronics is “brown goods”, because of the paneling. Appliances were called “white goods”.

Wood paneling is a classic look! And we should also bring back the floor model TVs with the big, beautiful speakers in them.

I listened to a podcast on CBC talking about how difficult it is to label food products. Likely that provider’s products were Canadian but they switch suppliers seasonally. The SKU stays the same, but the sourcing can change. Way more complicated for multi-ingredient products.

It is our god-given right as dads to make dad jokes. Uncles, too, but only in the presence of their nieces and nephews.

For a team that already spends to the cap, one of the few things they’re allowed to do to be more competitive with recruiting is player services. Why don’t we copy whatever the A+ teams are doing. How hard is it to be the best team for players’ families or have the best cafeteria?

Just curious, is this a culinary course or a food science or nutrition course?

We’ve been shipping new PCs to employees and getting this a lot. The couriers must know this is happening all the time, but maybe they don’t care? It probably doesn’t even hurt their stats - counts as a delivery. Seems it would be easy to verify these guys are never even coming to the house.

I don’t mind Bluesky, but it has none of the intimate feel of early twitter. Definitely fewer bots and trolls than current twitter, which is a glorious relief. I still find twitter more engaging, at least when you operate within a niche.

Welcome! You’ve escaped madness but found… kinda emptiness? Unfortunately, it’s not “old twitter”. It feels a bit more like “old google buzz”.

I have a signed football from him. He was one of my favorite players for his brief career. He also drove like a $3,000 beater rather than buy a flashy car with his money. Very cool guy.

I miss the days when we were underdogs in every game. Nothing scares me more than having the pundits pick the Ravens. Let them pick the Eagles and we can focus on winning the game.

Trade is one of the few true win-win things we have. Nations always benefit when they reduce trade barriers and suffer when they increase them. For God’s sake, just watch the opening of Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. Ben Stein explains the whole thing.
