I’m letting both my manuscripts marinate for a bit, and going back with fresh eyes. The consistent feedback I get is the writing isn’t grabbing agents, and the plot might be too ambitious. Going to come back and start looking at the language. I won’t give up!

I’m finding that in my beta readers, straight men are finishing in a matter of days and want more, even with two women protagonists, and straight women are fizzling out midway. I think I wrote a comic book based on Hesiod, Ovid and Euripides, just with no graphics. 🤔

In my second bit of witchiness this week, the #Wicked movie was visually gorgeous. I expected the music to be beautiful, but the set design and cinematography surprised me. Definitely one to see on the big screen if you can! ❤️

Sunday morning, and I’m going back to work after a week off following hubs’ surgery. I wrote about 12K words on my book 2, and plants out the final chapters of this story I’ve been working on for a decade. One book left. Even if I can’t get it published, I need to finish the story. ❤️

Feels like I'm just posting to the void since I'm just getting started here, but why not. I write a weekly newsletter, and this week I write about how far away from reading and critical thinking we’ve come. It's lacking in our education, COVID learning loss, social media attention spans, all of it.
