I think I'll have to start by following everybody who works on chromatin here and assume that this is a normal thing that people do. If it's not, I'm sorry, I'm a well-meaning nerd who finds everything interesting (and I will probably still follow you).

This concludes my thread! I don't know what the future holds for this account, but expect hot takes on chromatin (okay, maybe not always hot) and the occasional bad joke (okay, some of them aren't that bad). Mostly I love science and want to talk about it with other people who share my enthusiasm.

I firmly believe that the way to validate a technology is to get more people to use it, so I'd love to chat with anyone who's interested. I love collaborating and teaching.

So without further ado - hi everyone, I'm Bercin, I'm a research assistant professor @nufeinbergmed.bsky.social. My work focuses on building platforms for gene discovery. The most recent of them is TurboCas, a proximity labeling system for identifying locus-specific chromatin interactors.

To clarify, this is really less about self-promotion and more about getting my science out to more people, so hopefully this will help me achieve that, because I'm excited to grow my research platform.
