I’m just now realizing: folks who flex “brave” settler ancestors are quietly saying people who were Black and brought here in chains “got a free ride.” That isn’t history. That’s racism.

Also I tried sloppy joes for the first time today. Imagine asking your highly trained professional chef college professor husband to make you sloppy Joes lol. They were delicious. He said next time he'll elevate it & make "disheveled josephs". 🤭

It's tradition for my family to buy me THIS specific cake for my bday every year. Husband brought this home (my bday is in February) & said "you know you're a grownup & you can just buy a cake whenever you want?!" & that's the kind of partner energy we all deserve.

Afraid to post this... My much older brother would let me go into our loft, only place we could get the channel for wrestling, every week. 5 y/o, naive me, still loves that memory & deep sense of nostalgia for 90s Hulk.Terry was an awful human. I can hold both conflicting truths at once. Give grace

I was in Santa Cruz for a graduation this weekend & while I couldn't join the protests, I could support on the sidelines. This was a smaller group. The atmosphere was moving & celebratory. I hope everyone was safe!

Tesla’s not special, Elon. Protests aren’t new, and “violence” against some cars? Please. Most demos were peaceful, and calling Tesla “peaceful” is rich coming from a company allergic to unions and stacked with lawsuits.

We’re both higher ed instructors. I work 2 jobs & am a DSW student, he’s a union rep. He woke at 5 AM for a tooth extraction at a "Black Friday for sick people" event because, despite insurance, we drive an hour, pay hundreds, & can't afford time off. We know others have it worse. This is the USA.
