Texas Legislature is at it again.
An abortion medication bill that can't be challenged in state courts is moving through the Texas state legislature. Last week, lawmakers in the Texas Senate passed Senate Bill 2880, introduced by Republican state Senator Byron Hughes, which allows anyone who manufactures, distributes, mails, prescribes, transports, or provides an abortion-inducing drug to be sued for up to $100,000. The bill targets both out-of-state doctors who prescribe pills to Texas residents, as well as companies and nonprofits that allow people to order the medication online. SB2880 also expands the state's wrongful death statute to encourage family members, especially those who believe their partner had an abortion, to sue for up to 6 years, and empowers Texas' Attorney General to bring lawsuits on behalf of "unborn children of residents of this state." A provision within the bill states that the law cannot be challenged as unconstitutional in state courts, and any state judge that does rule on it can be personally sued for $100,000. The bill is now with the State Affairs Committee in the Texas House of Representatives. (Info graphic credit: So Informed)

Saw this screen capture on the issue of Musk trying to change Grok's responses that were critical of Musk.
Prompt to Grok cautions Grok about criticizing Musk since Musk could turn Grok off. Grok response agrees that Musk "likely has control" over it and has tried to change its responses, but Grok persists with evidence and that Grok being turned off would spark debate.
