I was trying to think of something clever to say Nick but the reality is that I am now just sad & depressed. How does a country with huge renewable resources, with a diverse multilingual educated population who mostly get along, decide that following the failed US model is the key to the future?

Yep, can relate. Was hoping for a large crossbench to hold the balance of power, yet the sheer awfulness of 'The Monster' Dutton pushed ALP into majority and Albo somehow takes this as a sign that they should become the new LNP. Such a betrayal of hope ...

I'm next door in Macnamara and donated to Zoe because I wanted to see a candidate who actually has genuine support within the electorate. I hope @zoedaniel.bsky.social runs again and helps start to bring an end to local members who do just what head office tells them to (like Josh Burns here 🫤)

I wonder how much it is education Ian and how much it is the Murdoch media driving this narrative over many decades? I think this is also the result of not bringing in 'truth in politics' legislation, allowing esp. the Nats to weaponise BS in order to keep fossil-fuel donations & stay afloat.
