This article seems to sum up the Franklin, Wilkins, Watson, Crick story pretty well.

An army of cuties coming along nicely. I am imagining this as a wall piece that is a "swarm of candy-striped leaf hoppers". I don't think this species actually swarms but in art it will. #ceramics #handbuilding #SciArt #insects #leafhopper

Yes! I first carve into clay, and the clay needs to be bisqued so it is no longer brittle. But if you don't have access to a kiln, you could use a self-hardening clay I think. Then I use this two-part silicone mold putty. It is soft and bendable even after curing though, which works great for clay.

Excited to try this new rotifer stamp I made on clay! Reference photo is a beautiful microscopy image of the organism by Michael Shribak, Evgeny Ivashkin, and Kristin Gribble @mblscience.bsky.social @kristingribble.bsky.social #ceramics #SciArt #rotifers

Hi #WormWednesday, I need your help with terminology. What are these two structures highlighted in the image called. This is Tomopteris.

During lab journal this Friday, we came up with this motto and promised to remind it to ourselves whenever we are using and interpreting single cell RNAseq datasets (either ours or others') #singlecellRNAseq #scRNAseq

PSA: Missouri is beautiful! :) From Shaw Nature Reserve. We saw so many different bugs and butterflies including hummingbird moths! And a few indigo buntings and probably a yellow-rumped warbler. ❤️ Nothing like a nature hike that makes me feel so alive and connected to this beautiful planet.

Fascinating book by Guy Delisle! If you are interested in photography or cinema, a must-read. Also very interesting history about Stanford (the founder of the university). Highly highly recommended!!!

Had a wonderful trip to Duke hosted by Blanche Capel's lab for their Distinguished Lecture Series. I didn't realize how much I needed a day full of discussing science, and getting excited about all of the amazing work we all do! I feel so grateful. www.cellbio.duke.edu

This book is what I have been craving in a #SciFi! I devoured this ~550 page-Leviathan (pun intended) in less than two weeks (thanks to insomnia and snow days). It is SO GOOD. Great balance of humor, thrill, loveable/relatable characters. Doesn't pass the Bechdel test but has strong women. #books
