Seahorses don't have stomachs, or teeth. They swallow food whole and it's partially digested in their intestines before they excrete the rest out. This means they have to eat constantly just to stay alive, feeding on up to three thousand brine shrimp a day

Barreleye Fish have the craziest adaptation I've ever seen, a transparent head. Their eyes point upward through their head so they can see prey above them, and the green pigmentation allows them to filter out sunlight!

The Irish word for ladybug is Bóín Dé, which literally means "God's Little Cow"

Normally I like to watch The Shining on Halloween, but I think I exorcised that urge last year when I watched it on the 1st of the month with my family. So I'm ending the month like I began, with John Carpenter. Happy Halloween everyone!

I hate gay Halloween. What do you mean you're Larus argentatus smithsonianus?

A personal favorite of mine for Devil's Night. Such a beautiful movie and simultaneously such a dire depiction of human nature

Round 2 on a strong contender for movie of the year for me. Zack Cregger's movies are a revelation and everything he did in Barbarian is expanded and perfected here

Definitely the worst of the 3 and an odd place to end one of the best series of all time (NOTLD onward) but still some seriously cool ideas. I'd reccomend it and the other two as well

At this time I'm fully committed to Romero's later trilogy, because they're honestly really fucking good. This one is found footage!

I've decided that Tomes's Sword-Nosed Bat is the Bat Of All Time. Everyone form a line and congratulate them

This is only a letdown if the other zombie movies you made are night, dawn and day of the dead. Me personally, I think Romero was absolutely cooking at age 65

You know, I've watched some good movies this month, but you know what I needed? Sam Raimi. Hail to the king baby

This one is a real treat. Experimental Japanese silent horror. The director lost the movie for like 50 years. I have no idea what's going on but it's got some really ambitious shots for being 98 years old

Part of a marathon I probably won't stay up to finish, but damn if it isn't great. David Arquette was such an endearing moron for a time

Every year I try and get into Hammer and every year I'm reminded that Hammer kind of sucks. But this is a co-production with the legendary Shaw Brothers, and that's genuinely really cool
