I am worried, as the form I need to fill out prior to the appointment asks whether she's ever bitten anyone, I don't think she's bitten, but she has scratched her vet. I've got meds, to help keep her sleepy and calm during the 3-ish hour drive and the appointment, fingers crossed they do the trick.

We finally have an appointment to see someone at A&M next Wednesday. At this appointment, I will find out the actual cost of surgery (just the surgery), prognosis, etc. This info is important, as there are groups that I might be able to get assistance from, but I need that before I can apply.

I had 4 female cats in the house, so was hopeful someone would take over mama duties... I was out of luck there, which means she was never really properly socialized, so not a good adoption prospect... but let's be honest, fractious, as her vet records say, attitude or not, I wanted to keep her.

I loaded up on kitty formula, got some syringes and bottles, a little basket to serve as her bed for the time being, and we went home. This was my 2nd attempt at bottle feeding a kitten, and happily this time I was successful at raising her.

Mama walked by a couple times while I watched, completely ignoring the baby, so I decided it was time to act. I lined a box with a towel, carefully put baby in it, and went to the only place that might still be open (it was after 10pm) and have the supplies I needed - walmart.

I knew one of the females had recently given birth (I had been trying, and did eventually TNR her, but obviously, it coulda been done quicker), and while I had seen a slimmer mama cat, had not yet seen the babies. Well, there was a baby, best guess was 2 weeks old, lying in the wet grass.

They don’t want me to take regular readings with a pulse ox as I don’t think mine will fit around her tail, and even if it would, I am not shaving her tail on the regular. I need to count her breaths for the next few nights to get a baseline and then later when/if she seems to be struggling.

The patch they shaved on her chest goes from under one arm to about halfway up the other side, she also has about 1 1/2 inch patches shaved in each of her front legs, and they shaved a ring around her tail. The ring around her tail seems to have been for a pulse oximeter.
