Bitcoin doesn't have a security problem. The network was 100% secure when the hash rate was 95% lower.
I argue that the network will be even more secure and better off if 50% of the industrial miners shut down, and home miners start contributing 1-5% to the hash rate.

Your comment confirms that Bitcoin has the same use case as cash. One added advantage (along with several others) is, Bitcoin is not tied to a government and can't be cancelled or devalued like cash can.
